Editorial Standards & Fact-Checking
Dry Climate Beauty publishes content about topics that affect your health, your purchasing decisions, and your wellbeing. We take that responsibility seriously. This page explains how we research, write, review, and maintain our content.
How We Research
Every article begins with research, not assumptions. Our writers consult peer-reviewed journals (PubMed, ScienceDirect), clinical guidelines from recognised medical institutions (AAD, WHO, Mayo Clinic), and primary sources wherever possible. We prefer meta-analyses and systematic reviews over individual studies. When only preliminary or small-sample research exists, we say so explicitly.
We do not cite social media posts, brand marketing materials, or unverified wellness blogs as sources for health claims. Anecdotal evidence is labelled as anecdotal.
How We Write
Our editorial voice is warm, direct, and honest. We write for an intelligent reader who is overwhelmed by conflicting information and wants clear answers backed by evidence. We do not use hedge language to avoid taking a position; we use it when the evidence genuinely warrants caution.
Health content uses responsible framing: "may," "research suggests," and "some studies show" rather than definitive diagnostic statements. Every article about a medical condition or treatment includes a recommendation to consult a qualified healthcare professional.
Medical Review Process
All articles containing health claims, clinical references, treatment discussions, or supplement recommendations are reviewed by Dr. Layla Hassan, our consulting trichologist and dermatology specialist. Her review ensures factual accuracy, source quality, and appropriate medical framing. For full details on what medical review covers and its scope, see our Medical Review Board page.
Sourcing Standards
All clinical claims require inline linked sources. We prefer peer-reviewed research published in reputable journals. Government health agencies, recognised medical institutions, and established clinical guidelines are acceptable primary sources. Every article with cited claims includes a References section at the bottom.
We do not cite sources behind paywalls without noting the access limitation. When we reference a study, we include the date, sample size context, and any relevant limitations.
Product Recommendations
Product recommendations are based on direct testing by our editorial team, ingredient analysis, and suitability for hard water and dry climate conditions. We do not accept payment for positive reviews. Affiliate relationships are disclosed clearly and never influence editorial verdicts.
When we recommend a product, we explain why it works for the specific environmental conditions we cover. When a product doesn't perform well in testing, we say so.
Corrections Policy
If we publish inaccurate information, we correct it promptly. Corrections are noted at the top of the affected article with a description of what changed and when. We do not silently edit published health content.
If you believe an article contains an error, contact [email protected] with the article URL and your concern.
Content Updates
Health and beauty information evolves. We review high-traffic articles periodically to ensure claims remain current, sources are still valid, and product recommendations reflect available options. Updated articles display a "Last updated" date.
